What requirements you'll need to be eligible
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in API sales within the pharmaceutical industry, with a deep understanding of the Chinese market.
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and compliance in China.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and formulate effective business strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive sales growth and achieve revenue targets.
What you'll be doing on the job
  • Develop and execute the overall sales strategy for API products in the Chinese market, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Lead the sales team to achieve revenue targets and market share goals.
  • Oversee sales targets and performance in the China market, analyzing market trends and customer needs to identify business opportunities.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics affecting API sales in China.
  • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, preferences, and competitive factors.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D and product development teams to align the product portfolio with market needs and regulatory requirements in China.
  • Ensure all business activities comply with relevant local and international laws and regulations, particularly those related to pharmaceutical products and formulations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, healthcare professionals, distributors, and suppliers in China.
  • Develop and manage the budget for the API sales department, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Monitor financial performance against targets and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including acquiring new clients and partnerships.
  • Evaluate potential collaborations, licensing agreements, and strategic alliances to enhance the company's market position.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is highly beneficial, along with an understanding of the business culture in China.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within China and possibly internationally.
  • Actively participate in industry conferences and events to network and stay updated on market trends.
  • Regularly report progress and challenges to senior management and effectively communicate with different teams and stakeholders.
