What requirements you'll need to be eligible
- Bachelor's degree in biotechnology or a related field, (Master’s Degree (S2) is a plus.).
- Laboratory management or supervisory experience in a biotech or life sciences environment.
- Experience in umbilical cord blood processing is an added advantage.
- Strong background in quality assurance, particularly with AABB standards and regulatory compliance (DepKes) is preferred.
- Experience with lab accreditation and audits is a plus.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to lead and motivate laboratory staff.
- Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English required. The role involves collaboration with teams across Hong Kong and Singapore, so clear and professional communication is key.
- Knowledge of risk management practices and the ability to mitigate potential issues in laboratory operations.
- High attention to detail and precision in overseeing laboratory procedures and documentation.
- Strong sense of responsibility, commitment, and the ability to work independently. Ability to foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
- Maximum 45 years old due to team structure and company policies.
- Certification in DNB SEQ 6400 or equivalent is an advantage.
What you'll be doing on the job
Overall Job Scope
* Oversee daily lab operations.
* Manage costs through budgeting and capacity planning.
* Ensure quality standards are upheld.
* Oversee training and development of laboratory staff.
Key Tasks
* Lead laboratory team for AABB, DepKes, and other relevant audits.
* Collaborate with Medical Directors on lab-related medical oversight.
* Ensure timely processing of cord blood units.
* Oversee competency testing and adherence to documented procedures.
* Ensure lab proficiency testing and quality control.
* Develop and implement operational efficiencies.
* Handle vendor/supplier qualification and procurement.
* Conduct design control and validation studies.
* Monitor process deviations and implement corrective actions.
* Set and monitor departmental quality objectives.
* Communicate with doctors and internal teams for regulatory adherence.
* Occasionally process cord blood units and interact with clients on special cases.
Authority and Responsibility
* Authorized for HR and operational decisions within the lab.
* Authority to review and sign lab reports.
* Authority to manage the release of cord blood units to quarantine or storage.
* Ensure a safe and clean working environment in the lab.
Accountability
* Reports to the Director, Indonesia, and the Laboratory & Technical Director
