Who you'll be working for
A Malaysia-based market research and consulting firm specialising in shopping malls, retail, and property. It provides data-driven insights through surveys, focus groups, geodemographics, feasibility studies, and big data analytics to support business decisions.
What requirements you'll need to be eligible
- Candidate who possesses degree in Finance/Accounting related discipline or Professional qualification (ACA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 -5 years of relevant working experience.
- Knowledge of accounting standard and local tax compliance.
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office, Excel applications and computerized accounting system).
- Familiarity with accounting software (Auto Count) is an added advantage.
- Able to work with minimal supervision and work under pressure to meet tight deadline.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong team player with excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management.
What you'll be doing on the job
Account Management
- Monitor and manage daily operations such as invoicing, credit notes, payment vouchers, journal entries, bank reconciliation, accounts receivable and payable management, customer and vendor registration, etc.
- Handle full sets of account include maintain up to date financial records and manage the month-end and year-end closing process.
- Update sales data in a timely manner and prepare relevant entries for posting in the accounting system.
- Prepare PO & monitoring of monthly status.
- Prepare SST reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Financial & Cashflow Management
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statement.
- Work closely with appointed tax consultant and cross-functional departments to ensure efficient financial operations and accuracy of financial reporting.
- Maintain cost accounting systems for accurate costing, working capital, and profitability analysis.
- Conduct regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Prepare and submit financial reports to management in a timely manner.
- Maintain organised financial records and documentation.
Audit & Compliance Management
- Coordinate with internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation and addressing any issues raised.
- Assist with tax filing to ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the implementation of financial systems.
- Provide financial advice and recommendations to management for effective decision-making.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Communicate financial performance to stakeholders, including management and external partners.
- Collaborate with management and cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial performance.
- Provide advice and assistance to address employee’s queries regarding business expenses claim procedure, payment, etc.
Additional tasks
- Undertake any other duties as may be assigned by superior or management diligently and professionally.
