Who you'll be working for
Gentex Technologies Korea is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gentex Corporation, a NASDAQ-listed company based in Michigan, USA. It supplies auto-dimming rearview mirrors to the five major automobile manufacturers in Korea. All manufacturing and production facilities are located in the United States, while GTK is responsible for sales and engineering
POSITION OVERVIEW
Sales Engineer I is responsible for selling complex technical products or services to businesses, combining their technical knowledge with strong interpersonal skills. They contribute to regional sales goals of the GTK Sales Team by achieving business development at Korean customers through Sales & Engineering efforts.
What requirements you'll need to be eligible
REQUIREMENTS
- Sales and Application Engineering background in the automotive industry.
- Minimum 5 years in the automotive industry with a related job function.
- Minimum 3 years of working with or for Hyundai/Kia programs.
- Bilingual and bicultural Korean National.
- Ability to demonstrate previous experience or know-how to sell and maintain profitability based on higher-than-industry average prices and margins (Not commodity pricing).
- Ability to be an adaptable and humble hands-on team player in understanding Gentex style for internal and external communication, and strong relationship-building capability at the customer.
- Knowledge or ability to develop, communicate, manage, and implement diverse sales strategies based on specific factors of the customer, product, timing, and competitive aspects of the quoting process.
- Travel to headquarters on a biannual or quarterly basis as needed to maintain knowledge of the team, development projects, production conditions, and processes.
- Domestic Korea travel as required, to meet the needs of our customers.
- Must be highly active with a positive attitude and teamwork oriented.
- Must be dependable and consistent.
- Must be extremely self-motivated and self-directed.
- Should behave with confidence but conduct themselves with humility.
- Needs to be able to overcome obstacles and adversity while continuing progress toward their goals.
- Full professional written and verbal proficiency in English.
- Ability to travel to the United States.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
What you'll be doing on the job
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Have in-depth knowledge of the products' specifications, weights, parts, and functions.
- Use technical knowledge to explain products or services in a clear and compelling manner.
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, aligning product offerings with their specific requirements.
- Bring the Customer’s voice closer to Gentex with respect to Sales and Engineering.
- Give Gentex a greater voice regarding Sales and Engineering at the Customer.
- Technically support Program Management, Sales, and Quality on targeted, launching and shipping business.
- Identify sales opportunities and risks with Korean customers and put best efforts to increase sales revenue and profit to the best interest of Gentex.
- Technically support program management of a new product development.
- Thorough understanding of the importance of building a positive company image and customer satisfaction.
- Liaison activities between Korean customers and the Gentex Headquarter staff.
- Manage all aspects of sales and engineering activities for Korean customers.
- Thorough understanding of our customers’ systems and requirements with reporting and implementation at Gentex. This is achieved through regularly scheduled visits to customer facilities throughout Korea.
- Thorough understanding of the Gentex Culture and Systems and use of all forms within the system.
- Maintaining a high level of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality with respect to company matters.
- Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.
- Other duties as assigned.
