Project Manager - Solar PV

About this role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the end-to-end delivery of distributed Solar PV EPC projects across Malaysia, particularly Commercial & Industrial (C&I) rooftop installations. The role covers project planning, engineering coordination, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, grid connection and final handover, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Lead end-to-end Solar PV EPC project execution, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation and progress monitoring.

Coordinate engineering teams, consultants and contractors on system designs, technical drawings, specifications and site requirements.

Manage procurement, equipment delivery and logistics for solar modules, inverters, electrical components and related systems.

Supervise EPC contractors, subcontractors and site teams to ensure construction quality, productivity and adherence to project schedules.

Monitor project budgets, expenditure, variations and cost forecasts to maintain project profitability.

Manage client relationships and coordinate with consultants, suppliers, TNB, local authorities and other stakeholders.

Oversee regulatory submissions, inspections, testing, commissioning, grid connection and energisation.

Ensure compliance with Malaysian electrical regulations, technical standards and health, safety and environmental requirements.

Track project risks, resolve technical and operational issues, and provide regular progress reports to management.

Coordinate final inspections, defect rectification, documentation and project handover to clients.

Who we’re looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in Solar PV, renewable energy, electrical engineering or EPC construction.
• Proven experience managing projects from engineering and procurement through construction, commissioning and handover.
• C&I rooftop Solar PV project experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Solar PV systems, AC/DC electrical systems, LV/MV installations, testing and commissioning.
• Experience managing project schedules, budgets, contractors, subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with TNB grid interconnection, Malaysian regulatory requirements and SEDA Solar ATAP processes is an advantage.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings; AutoCAD and Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 experience is preferred.
• Strong project leadership, stakeholder management, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Proficiency in English or Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is preferred.
• Willingness to travel regularly to project sites across Malaysia.
