Four roles are currently open at RecruitFirst: a Recruitment Consultant for the IT sector, an HR Officer covering operations and administration, a Management Trainee place for 2027 graduates, and an undergraduate internship. Each has a full description on our careers page, and each is applied for through a form that goes to our people team rather than into the candidate database our consultants work from.
What are the four roles?
- **Recruitment Consultant (IT Sector)** — a permanent role owning a technology desk end to end: the clients hiring engineers and the engineers worth introducing to them. We hire both experienced technology recruiters and people moving in from the IT industry itself.
- **HR Officer (Operations and Administration)** — an internal role supporting our own staff: onboarding, employee records, leave and payroll input, work pass paperwork for staff moving between offices, and support to the people team on internal hiring.
- **Management Trainee (2027 Graduate)** — a structured entry into recruitment consulting for students graduating in 2027, on a real desk, with a senior consultant responsible for teaching rather than for delegating.
- **Intern (Undergraduate)** — attached to a consultant and a live desk: market research and mapping, first-stage sourcing, interview coordination, and the CRM hygiene that decides whether a desk works.
The current list, with the full descriptions and the market each sits in, is always on the careers page. If a role is not listed there, it is not open.
Why is the application separate from the candidate database?
Because most people applying to join a recruitment business are employed at another one. If internal applications sat in the same system as candidate CVs, every consultant browsing that system would see who had applied to join us.
They are held in a separate table, visible only to the people team, and the separation is enforced in the system rather than by convention. Your current employer is not contacted, and no reference is taken up, without your agreement.
What happens to your application?
It goes to the people team, who read it against the roles that are open and the ones likely to open. You hear back either way.
Your CV file is deleted within 30 days of being taken into our internal hiring system; the record of your application, including the consent you gave, is kept for 12 months and then deleted. You can ask us to delete everything sooner at any point.
What if none of the four fits?
Apply anyway, and say which track interests you. Desks open across all nine offices through the year, and applications are read against what is about to open as well as what is.
If what you actually want is a consultant working on your behalf — a job with one of our client companies rather than a job with us — that is a different route: register your CV instead. The two go to different teams.
Where are these roles based?
The market for each role is shown on its card on the careers page. Applications are open to candidates who can work in that market, and the form asks about work authorisation early because it is a real constraint rather than an afterthought.
